We built TricyRide because we lived this problem every single day. Missing 8am lectures because no keke would stop. Arriving soaked because you had to walk in the rain. That ends now. — Built by a student from the Faculty of Education, University of Abuja.
The Problem We're Solving
Every day, thousands of Nigerian university students lose precious time, money and energy dealing with a transport system that wasn't built with them in mind.
Students stand at tricycle stops for 20–40 minutes not knowing if a keke will come — especially early mornings before lectures.
Tricycle riders often skip stops or wait for a full load before moving, leaving some students stranded while others get rides immediately.
Uber and Bolt don't operate on most Nigerian university campuses. The only option is to flag down a keke and hope for the best.
Without a fixed system, riders often charge whatever they want — especially during rain or late hours. Students have no leverage to push back.
Students travelling with friends have to haggle for multiple kekes or cram into one, often splitting up and arriving separately to class.
Students board anonymous tricycles with no name, no plate, no way to report bad actors — making campus transport a safety grey area.
How TricyRide Fixes It
TricyRide brings order to campus tricycle transport through smart grouping, instant SMS alerts and verified riders — all for less than ₦10 a day.
We automatically group 1–4 students heading the same direction, so riders always carry a full load and students always get a ride.
The moment a rider accepts your trip, you get an SMS with their name, tricycle colour, plate number and a 4-digit trip code. No app needed.
Every ride gets a unique 4-digit code. The rider confirms it when they arrive — so you always board the right tricycle, not a random one.
Need a ride instantly with no wait? Book a Full Seat and the whole tricycle comes only for you — dispatched the moment you tap the button.
Travelling with your crew? Add friends by phone number and book one keke for your whole group. Everyone arrives together, every time.
Only registered riders with active TricyRide subscriptions receive booking requests. Riders who misbehave get strikes — three strikes, suspended.
Why TricyRide, Not Something Else?
We didn't copy a foreign ride-hailing app. TricyRide was built from scratch around how Nigerian university students actually live — spotty network, tight budgets, group culture, and reliance on SMS over data apps.
